6 months old

Our baby boy is already 6 months old today! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by and I really wish that we could hit pause because he is not my little baby anymore, he's turning into my little man with a budding personality. We had a great trip home to visit everyone and for everyone to meet Jackson. I found out that people actually DO read this blog, hi Lindsay and Abby, so my audience is growing. We met both sides of the family, all aunts and uncles and cousins and 2nd cousins and people that we consider family and we had a blast. But as always, the time just isn't long enough and we really wish that we could stay and enjoy the company and the warm weather for another 2 weeks. Oh well, maybe next time when me and Jackson are home for a little longer!

Jackson did great on his plane rides. I think Jeremy was more nervous and anxious than me but I think he did excellent. It's no easy feat for a little guy to sit still for 2 1/2 hours and be quiet. We found out that breastfeeding on the plane isn't so easy, tight spot and strangers beside us was a little unnerving but we made it through.

While we were home, we started solid foods. We were excited about him trying something new but as you can see, he wasn't too happy about it. Here he is trying out organic sweet peas - NOT A FAN I tell ya. He did get to try out some real sweet potatoes and he loves them - thank goodness because his Mama Lou works for a major sweet potato supplier. He may be disowned if he didn't love them - just kidding. We spent half a week at the beach, not the best weather, but we definitely aren't complaining, especially coming from Montana. While we were in NC, Montana received 16 inches of snow and highs in the negatives. YUCK. Jackson even came back with a little tan - not on purpose, but just from being out and about.
Jackson traveled to and from the beach in style. We have been eyeing one of these Kelty Kid Carriers since before Jackson was here and we finally bought one at REI while we were home. We tried him in it in the store and he owned it, complete with his mouth slobbering all over the the side as he was biting down. It is so comfy and will be great for hiking here and in California, and through the wine vineyards. Can't wait!
Our first family picture at the beach. What a great time we had. Jeremy got his surfing in to tide him over until he gets back to his regular surfing spots in California. The water was way to cold for me but Jackson loved sticking his tiny feets in the sand and water. We can't wait to come back.
Oh, and Jackson's 6 month stats: Weight - 16.31 Height - 26.8
He is 75th percentile for height and 30th percentile for weight. He is just a long and skinny baby - don't know where he got it from though. He is getting stronger at sitting by himself and putting more weight on his legs. He is saying "mamamamam" and laughing alot. He is just a happy go lucky baby - we are so blessed.

Have a great weekend. Jeremy has masters classes all weekend, beginning tonight. We are supposed to hang out with some friends, celebrate Jackson's 6 month birthday, and enjoy the warmer weather - in the 60's. Oh I can't wait for summer!
