Happy 4th of July Recap

We've had a busy 4th of July weekend. We have been going, going, going non-stop since Jeremy has had off since Friday. Friday we went to the indoor swimming pool and pretty much had it to ourselves. That evening we went up to Avila Beach to the farmer's market and enjoyed a yummy tri-tip sandwich and the warm beach with our friends the Malone's.

Saturday early morning we woke up and headed to Pismo before the traffic and crowds settled in, for some time in the water and sand. It cleared up for about 45 minutes while we were there and Jackson was all about getting in the FREEZING cold water.
He had to be stripped down after his pants were soaked.....I didn't bother taking him a swimsuit since it was early morning and cold but he loved the water.
Saturday evening we went to our friends the Harmon's for a 'top hand' cookout. They just moved into one of the new houses on base and it is so nice - we can't wait for our turn (I'm starting to get impatient). This is their adorable little boy Dawson who is 5 months old.
Yesterday morning, on the 4th, we headed up to Solvang for the annual 4th of July parade. Jackson was old enough this year to enjoy watching most of the parade, but more importantly, catch all the candy being thrown his way. Daddy helped him out some because there were some bigger kids right beside us trying to steal it from right in front of Jackson and Macky.
Mater from Disney's Cars movie was in the parade - not the real deal but Jackson didn't know any different.
My big boy with some candy he caught - isn't his shirt adorable!
Miss Sassy Pants herself!
Our family photo of us in red, white, and blue and it wasn't even planned!
We drove the Wrangler up there and took out the windows and back windshield for the ride back since it was so nice and warm. Jackson was instantly asleep with all the fresh air blowing in his face. He's been missing his bedtime by about an hour or more this weekend with all our activities!
Last night we had the Dewese's, the Harmon's and the Suden's over for a pot-luck sort of cook out. We all had leftovers from the cookouts earlier in the weekend so we threw it all together and played Outburst while waiting for it to get dark enough outside to catch some fireworks. Lompoc put on a show but we decided to stay on base on top of a hill overlooking Lompoc and watch. Jackson was more interested in all the lights everywhere since it was pitch black out. He might have seen one or two fireworks?!

It has been a great weekend and today we are hanging out around the house. We are going to the brand new Lompoc hospital where Jennings will be born to pre-register and then I think we'll get some more baby stuff out from the garage to get ready for his arrival. Only a few more weeks left......have I mentioned that I CAN NOT WAIT! I'll do a 37 week belly post later this week!
