Saturday was a big day of first for Jackson. We had his 3 month pictures taken at Sears, and waited around with all the other families, and their 15 screaming kids! It felt just like we were in a TV show where you have pity on the poor family that is in the waiting area with a happy baby and "stage" parents everywhere. Anyway, if we had been able to have our pictures taken when our appointment was scheduled, Jackson was in a great mood - smiling and talking to us, but once his time was up, he was fast asleep with a full tummy! We had a hard time getting him to smile, especially sitting against a hard concave hole to help him stay up and 3 of us making silly faces and noises. He just stared at us like we had completely lost it. By the end of the session, we were EXHAUSTED - I'm not sure why picture taking is so hard, but it is like a major workout - sweat and all. SO now it's time to order pictures. Jeremy wasn't with me at the photo session so we went back today so he could see the pictures and place an order. Coupon for 35 portraits for 9.99 but with military discount - 7.99. Of course, all the pictures have to be the same pose, but luckily we both agreed on the same one. However, we wanted a copyright cd so we could print off more at Walgreens and I was told it was only $19.99, but come to find out, you have to spend $50 in pictures and then pay another $29.99 for the cd. We didn't want to have to take out a loan for 3 month old pictures so we just stuck with spending $7.99 - great deal for us, probably put them out some money being that the next package up was $130. So, with a fabulous experience at Sears*, we have decided that if we want good quality pictures and have a couple hundred of dollars, then we will hire a "real" professional photographer that went to school for his job and isn't located in a mall to take little one's pictures. Now, I'm sure everyone's experience is different, and maybe it was just going into this whole situation blind, being that I am a first time parent, but I highly doubt we'll do Sears again. Of course the pictures turned out amazing - just because Jackson was the star, so if anyone would like to order some, you can view them at Searsphotos.com. They are not posted yet, as of today, but should be within the next 2 days. Sorry - this turned more into a vent about Sears.
Everyone is well and Jackson is growing like a weed. Saturday, February 2nd - 3 months old - CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I will definitely post later this week! Keep us in your prayers that we don't freeze to death in the upcoming days, our wind chills are expected to be in the -30's - BURR! Moving to California can't come soon enough!

We had the exact same experience at his 1 month pictures. We were exhausted after the shoot. Don't worry, the 6 mo shot is AWESOME!! Donovan just had his taken and he was grinning from ear to ear! Love you guys!

you should go to school to take pictures, because me and mar both said that yours were better than the sears ones.
